High-voltage / LV-voltage prefabricated substation, also called as "European Type Substation Transformer" is the complete set of power distribution equipment, which is composed of HV switchgear, power distribution transformer, LV switchgear, electricity metering devices, reactive compensation devices, connection sub-assemblies and other auxiliary devices. These components, devices and sub-assemblies are prefabricated in one or several different housings and then used together to transmit power from HV system to LV system.
After digesting the up-to-date technology and advantages of the prefabricated substation in the market and based on the actual project application requirements, the new generation of prefabricated substation was designed and developed. It features compact structure, less land occupation, high safety and reliability and simple installation. It could be installed in load centers and shifted with the load center. The substation could be widely used for infrastructure constructions, oilfields, harbour and ports, high building, highway, metro, airport and residential neighbourhood.

"Chimney effect" air ventilation structure is adopted for the enclosure, thus to greatly optimize product's heat dispersion performance. Temperature rise limit conforms to the 10K class requirements of GB 17467 and IEC 1330.
Different types of enclosure for clients' selection and application, including common steel plate enclosure, composite board, stainless steel plate and "three-proof process" board. The composite board adopts superior double-layer zinc steel plates, strengthened with heat shield composite board materials between the layers.

Different structure/layout could be used, like the rectangle "目" structure or inverted T-shape "品" structure. With or without operation corridor split structures or other customized design.
Normally, four types of HV switches are used for prefabricated substation, that is, pressured load switch, vacuum load switch, SF6 load switch, vacuum circuit breaker. Considering the facts that standard vacuum circuit breaker is large in size and high in price, it is not recommended for installation in substation unless specially required.
HV circuit breaker functions very importantly in power distribution system, that is, break normal load current and short-circuit current. However, in end-user's power system, especially for 10kV system with small capacity, the load switch is normally used to break the normal load current, and very seldomly to break the short-circuit current. Therefore, HV combination of switch plus fuse is used to substitute HV circuit breaker. Here, the load switch is used to break the normal load current and fuse is used to break the short-circuit current. Almost more than 95% prefabricated substation integrates HV load switch as normal practice.
